Crackdown on untaxed cars in Edinburgh
General August 24th, 2008Crackdown on untaxed cars in Edinburgh. Traffic wardens equipped with vans packed with ANPRS cameras are driving around Edinburgh checking for cars which do not have a valid tax disc by reading their number plates. 60 cars are towed away and impounded each week and if the owners don’t pay the £80 release fee plus back duty the car is crushed. DVLA said the crackdown makes the roads safer as most untaxed vehicles also have no insurance.
